laid-back

These two cuties were such a joy to work with. We first met Hannah when she was singing with Jonah, one of our talented musician friends who we also just had the pleasure of photographing with his fiancee recently.

(Here's a photo of one of the many times we got to enjoy listening to Hannah and Jonah.  I love this picture of them, by the way...and know exactly what song they are singing.)

Hannah introduced us to her fiancee, Geoff, on one of the last weekends we were in Florida and we took them to a crazy little miniature golf course and then moved downtown.  These two were so laid-back and willing to do whatever we asked them to do.  Bala and I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot and the freedom they gave us to be creative as well as the chance to get to hang out with Hannah one more time before we left the area.  It was a rare cool morning on the coast, and we made the most of it.  Congratulations, Hannah & Geoff!

the one.

I am a firm believer that some things are just meant to be.  Jonah and Allison are one of those couples who certainly prove that theory of mine.  Bala and I met Jonah just over 5 years ago after he had recently moved to the coast.  We instantly bonded with him and have loved this guy ever since.  I cannot say enough wonderful things about him and am so excited to see him get his girl who he has been in love with for the entire time we have known him and even before we met.  The day of the engagement session was the first time we had actually met Allison in person and she is every bit as beautiful as her photographs show.  I could not be happier for these guys!  We are so excited to be a part of their special day which is coming up  very soon.   Bala and I will both be documenting it all in photographs and video.  So stay tuned, this isn't the last you will see of these two.

gorgeous.

Even though we haven't landed in west Tennessee yet, I was able to shoot my first Parisian client while her family was vacationing down here on the beach recently.  I had so much fun photographing this beauty--even though seeing her as a senior makes me feel very old since I can remember when she was born and I swear it was only 5 years ago!  Such a unique young lady who weathered the scorching gulf coast heat looking absolutely gorgeous.  Thanks, M!

b. introduced

Hello to you...welcome to b. photography's blog!  Welcome to b. photography, for that matter.  And welcome home to me.  My name is Joni Homesley Boyd (the female half of b. photography).  I grew up in Paris, Tennessee and have been away for quite some time now.  Truth be told, I am still away from Paris, but not for much longer.  Very soon my family and I will be leaving the white sand beaches and blue water of the gulf coast of Florida where we have lived for the past seven years and planting ourselves once again in the Henry County soil.  My husband, Bala (the male half of b.photography), is a film maker and will be using our time back home to write, direct and produce a film.  And if that isn't enough time behind a lens, he will spend the rest of his time with me, taking pictures of you!  What I am pretty sure he will not be doing is writing on this blog.  Just not his bag, baby.

We are very excited to get reacquainted with you guys in West Tennessee.  I hope you'll check out what we're up to from time to time and give us a shout when you need some artistic, unique photos.  We'll be taking appointments beginning the second week of October 2010, just in time to get your family photos taken for this year's Christmas cards!  You can contact us at 731-336-3200 or through our Contact page on our website (bphotographyparis.com).
